The mtn scholarship, part of our youth development venture, provides an annual platform for recognizing and rewarding dedicated and high-performing students in Nigerian public higher education institutions. We have curated three scholarship categories to meet the different needs of our distinguished scholars.
The MTN Scholarship Program offers scholarship opportunities to qualified and deserving students interested in pursuing a degree program in Nigeria. The scholarship consists of the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship Scheme (MTN STSS) and the MTN Scholarship Scheme for Blind Students (MTN SSBS).

Scholarship benefits: N200,000.00 per year until graduation

- The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is open to 300 students studying technology-related courses at public higher education institutions (universities, polytechnics and institutes of education) in Nigeria.
- The MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is open to 200 and 300 level blind students studying any course in Nigerian public higher education institutions (Universities, Polytechnics and Institutes of Education).
Course of Study
- MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
- This app is intended for students who have completed the 200-level exam in Semester 2 and progressed to 300-level and students who are currently at 300-level, as we understand that the academic calendar does not align across all public higher education institutions.

- MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
- The app is open to 200 and 300 class blind students of any Nigerian public higher education institution (Universities, Polytechnics and Institutes of Education). However, for blind students pursuing a 5-year law program, only 300 level students can apply for the MTN scholarship.
Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
- STEM students at public universities and colleges of education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (Second Class Higher Credit)
- STEM students at public polytechnics must have a minimum grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 (higher credit) in the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and must be eligible for entry into the Higher National Diploma (HND).
- STEM students at the Direct Entry level must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (higher credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must be admitted to a public university at Level 300/Year 3.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
- Blind students must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 at a University or Institute of Education
- Blind students at public polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 in the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have qualified for entry to the Higher National Diploma (HND) program.
