In high school, he studied at Simon High School, and after high school, he joined Duke University.

He was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the second overall pick in the 2014 National Basketball Draft. After one season, he ended his collegiate career playing for Duke.

On April 17, Jabari declared for the 2014 NBA Draft in an exclusive Sports Illustrated autobiographical story. On June 26, Parker was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks with the second overall pick. On October 29, 2014, Parker made his NBA debut in the Bucks’ Game 1 against the Charlotte Hornets.

On December 15, Parker tore his anterior cruciate ligament in a game against the Phoenix Suns, resulting in season-ending reimbursement.
