Electoral Violence: We Do Not Have Police In Nigeria But Thugs In Uniform – Mr P, Falz Express Disgust

Nigerian singer and actor Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana and his colleague Peter “Mr P” Okoye have accused Nigerian police of failing to protect people during the 2023 general election.

They focused on attacks on Lagos state voters by mobs loyal to the state’s All Progressive Congress (APC).

The 2023 Lagos state gubernatorial election has been overshadowed by high levels of violence and intimidation, many of which took place in front of security personnel.

Popular footage captured police monitoring or assisting in the disenfranchisement of many voters.

Reacting to the confusion, Falz tweeted: “I’m pissed off. The level of fucking is unbelievable!

“Several Arise TV reporters were beaten at my polling place. In the presence of the police, of course!”

“By what logic are you concluding that force can be used to get people to ‘vote’ for you? Those of you who support and enable this fxxkery are more despicable. You know better, but you are evil at heart. You is despicable!

Also, Peter Okoye said; “We don’t have police in Nigeria! We only have uniformed thugs! Shame on them!

It may be recalled that the police described as a joke the threats made by the chairman of the National Park Management Board, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, against non-indigenous people in Lagos.

In a popular video, Oluomo threatened Igbo people living in Lagos state to either come out and vote for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the ongoing gubernatorial election or stay indoors.
