France: A high-tech solution to world’s clothing waste problem?

Across Europe, just one percent of textiles are currently recycled, partly due to the complexity of separating the multiple materials used in modern clothing and footwear. But now engineers in France may have found a solution, with a machine that can automatically detect the composition and colour of materials, separate them and sort them to be more easily reused.
