The Pamplona massacre claimed the lives of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo and eight others, according to CDN, which was reported by Saraaa while Negros Oriental. At around 3am on Sunday, March 12, Sararaa was riding a motorcycle with her boyfriend, Niel Ian Balcobero. They were about to make a left turn at an intersection in Barangay Tampi, San Jose, when a Elf truck passed a long-bed truck and hit their car. Sararaa and Balcobero were immediately taken to the Negros General Hospital in Sibulan City. Sararaa lost consciousness before she died, but Balcobero survived.
CDN wrote in their statement,
“Pegeen died of head injuries.”
According to police sources, the driver of the elf truck is Neelrick Tano Gaso, a local from the town of Amran. He was released at the San Jose Police Department after 18 hours of mandatory time.
“Police investigators say that since the family has not filed a formal complaint against the suspect, they have no choice but to release the driver.”
Later on March 12, Salalah’s father and sister Claire arrived in Negros Oriental. Claire told the Inquirer,
“She has a lot planned for us. She’s a family-oriented person who always remembers us even when she’s away from home,”
“It’s hard to believe what happened to my sister.”
