How did Cliff Cerce die?
Cliff Cerce, member of The Cerces and ardent fan of Southern Gospel, has passed away.
His wife posted the horrific news on Facebook and called for prayers for his family.
“At 4:00 this morning, my husband, Cliff Cerce, passed away. He’s working his way back to walking in rehab. On January 11, 2023, he sprained his knee and tore all his cartilage. After 3 weeks in bed, he went to the hospital and has been in the hospital or rehabilitation center since February 2, 2023. Over the past few days he has had pneumonia and some fluid buildup in his lungs and I guess his body can’t take the pressure anymore. All I know is that God has prepared for him and He calls Cliff home.
Please keep me and all the family in your prayers. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever been through, but he doesn’t suffer anymore. God is already using my dear friends to watch over me.
Thank you all for your prayers. “
He is survived by his lovely wife Anita, three wonderful children, their beloved wife and six wonderful grandchildren.

When Cliff sprained his knee on January 11, 2023, he completely lost all his cartilage. After three weeks in bed, he went to hospital and was told his kidneys and liver had been damaged. He has been there or in rehabilitation since February 2, 2023.
In March 2023, he posted an update on Facebook announcing that he had started dialysis. In the room next to his private room, dialysis was performed. He was wheeled into the corner of that room and laid on his bed, where he was hooked up for four hours.
He was supposed to stay on dialysis for a few months, but when his liver and kidneys started functioning normally, they decided to stop dialysis for the next few days. He claims it has been closely watched.
After 68 days in bed and 44 days in the hospital, he was discharged on March 18, 2023, and admitted to Spring Valley Rehabilitation Center in Springfield. He claimed that the torn cartilage in his right knee was temporarily replaced with gel injections until a full replacement was possible and the medical difficulties were corrected. This should allow him to put weight on his right leg again for a quick recovery and start walking.
Cliff updated his health status on Facebook on May 14, 2023. He said he has been having breathing problems for the past few days and that he intends to leave rehab in a few weeks while still on the road to a full recovery. Fearing unexpected breathing problems, he asks everyone to pray for him.
