A Nigerian man, known simply as Niyi, recounted on Twitter how his friend lost his entire N140,000 savings.
He said the guy saved money while he was on the National Youth Service Program and went home when he was done.
Niyi added that instead of buying tangible things with the money, his friend used it to play virtual bets and lost.
He said he had to buy him food that night as a consolation.
He wrote; “Casually remember my guy who saved about 140k during his military service and ended up coming home and losing everything in one day to bet9ja virtual.
Na kuku my area, no, I’ll buy food later that night. How do you save for 12 months and lose it all to the kid in a few hours. “
