A Nigerian woman resented her boyfriend’s love of football and somehow convinced him to drop a game for her.
The young woman, named Ruth, had tweeted that dating a football fan was a difficult experience.
She made the remarks while sharing a conversation she had with her boyfriend on WhatsApp, where she complained of being ignored.
This happened on March 11, 2023 when Chelsea FC played Leicester City and he was a Chelsea fan.
In the chat, Ruth said she had been calling him and he hung up, but he replied that he was using Do Not Disturb.
The boyfriend asked her to give him some time and said he would call her after the game, but she said she wanted to talk right away.
He begged for 10 minutes, she insisted on calling, and he promised to drop the match for her. A few minutes later he sent her a message saying he had finally stopped watching Chelsea and called her, but she didn’t answer.
