Timberwolves’ full 2024 draft roster
Minnesota Timberwolves fans who have supported the team over the years have fond memories of Jeff Teague. Teague, who joined the Timberwolves in 2017 on a three-year, $57 million deal, was Minnesota’s starting point guard until the team acquired D’Angelo Russell in 2020.
Overall, Teague was a solid player during his tenure with the Twins, but clearly left a lot to be desired. Given his situation and contract status, we rank him as one of the worst free-agent signings in franchise history.

Jeff Teague: ‘No one is worse than Timberwolves fans’
This sentence was made while telling a famous story about Jimmy Butler. Most Timberwolves fans remember Butler’s training incident in the fall of 2018. Butler reportedly teamed up with his players on the Timberwolves’ bench, beat starters in scrimmage and has been bragging about his importance to the team.
Teague revealed some interesting new details, including how Butler appeared to have the Timberwolves logo cut out of his shirt and shorts before showing up at the team facility. After that, I left the practice facility and immediately went home for a virtual interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols. Jeff called it “one of the most iconic basketball moments” he’s ever been a part of.
But it was Teague’s comments to the fanbase that most annoyed Wolves fans on the podcast. It may seem like a joke, maybe to lighten up, but Timberwolves fans won’t let that go.
