Earlier we saw Yuuji eat an old finger. It’s disgusting, but he gains some power from it and manages to save his friends at the Mystic Club. But we know that his actions will have consequences!
Let’s see what those consequences are!
content
The episode begins with Megumi wondering if Itatori Yuuji is really him, or just a demon pretending to be Yuuji. When Gojo Satoru appeared at the beginning of the first episode, he was hesitant to arrest him. He looked relaxed, complaining that the “higher-ups” were throwing a fit over the disappearance of a “specially cursed item.”
When both Bannori and Kei tell him that Banniao ate it, he asks Banniao if he can control “Sukuna” – the cursed name. Itadori says he can, so Gojou tells him to take over control 10 seconds from now. Itatori lets Sukuna take over, and Gojo struggles with the curse.

Ten seconds passed, and Yuuji came back. Gojo was surprised, but also happy to see this. He walked up to Itatori and patted him on the forehead, knocking Yuuji unconscious. Kei asks Gojo to do his best not to let Yuuji be executed, because that’s the proper etiquette. We cut to the beginning of the first episode, where Yuuji is tied up and told he’s going to be executed—and that’s where we learn what’s going on for the rest of the season.

Basically, Yuuji would have been executed no matter what. However, he has two options – either 1, execute immediately, or 2, work for them, collect Sukuna’s remaining fingers (20 in total) and eat them. When he has eaten all of them, he will be executed. Until then, he’ll be working with Jiu-Jitsu schools and helping collect them. After visiting a member of the Occult Club in the hospital and seeing him still in a coma, Yuuji finally chose the second option and was given an extra finger by Gojo to eat. 2/20 finished eating!

However, he must first be admitted by the principal. Principal Masamichi Haga asks Yuuji why he wants to join the school. At first, Yuuji replied that his grandfather’s dying wishes told him to help others. This wasn’t good enough for the Headmaster, who infused a doll with a curse and made it attack Yuuji. Ultimately, Yuuji stated that if he didn’t help, it would bother him knowing that at any moment someone could be killed by Sukuna’s cursed item. With such an answer, Masamichi let Yuuji go in.

At the end of the episode, we see a third first grader—a girl this time—take a train from a rural town to Tokyo, where Yuuji’s school is located. She is the third student alongside Fuhei and Banniao.

Opinion/Analysis
Have you ever watched an episode where you knew they were working on the rest of the season? Usually they lock the main character into some kind of deal, or he goes to a relevant school for revenge. Schools like the Weapon/Master Academy from Soul Eater or the Exorcist School from Blue Exorcist come to mind.
I hope Jiu Jitsu Kaisen doesn’t go the same way. However, since the “school” is small, I don’t think so. After all, how can students who are only in the third grade be able to attend class?
Well, with all that said, I’m excited to see the rest of the season! The animation quality is top notch and the characters are cute too!
