Kenyan woman arraigned on cheating allegation for damaging boyfriend’s car and TV
Kenyan lady Imelda Mwendwa Kigunda was charged in the presence of Kibera Chief Magistrate Renee Kitagwa on May 17, 2023 for allegedly damaging her boyfriend’s car by striking the windshield and his TV, both cases worth Sh235,605 .
During the arraignment, Imelda contested each of the allegations made against her.
According to testimony given in court, the offense was committed on January 18, 2023 at the Gemini Club in Nairobi County.

Court documents say the offenses were the result of an acrimonious dispute between the two over some cheating allegations.
Through her attorney Brian Mwenda, the defendant argued in court for a reasonable bond term release.
According to Mwenda, his client was an upright citizen and not in danger of flying.
He directed the court to provide her with all supporting documents that the prosecution plans to use throughout the trial.
The magistrate ordered the accused to be released on Sh100,000 bail or Sh50,000 cash bail.
She ordered the matter to move forward on May 31 for pre-trial proceedings and other directions.
