FirstBank of Nigeria Ltd. announces the appointment of Mr. Oluseyi Oyefeso as Executive Director, Retail Banking, responsible for the Southern Region.
The bank made the announcement in a statement posted on the Nigeria Exchange website in Lagos on Monday.
According to the statement, Oyefesso’s appointment is effective March 2, 2023, subject to approval by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Prior to his appointment, Oyefeso was Group Executive Director of Southern Retail Banking (Lagos and West) and was also Country Managing Director of FBNBank Ghana Ltd.
He joined FirstBank in 2006 as Branch Manager and has held various positions including Business Development Manager and Group Head on both the retail and institutional banking boards.
Dr. Adesola Adeduntan, Chief Executive Officer of FirstBank Group, described Oyefeso as a “multi-skilled professional with very deep banking experience, proven problem-solving and leadership skills.” Adeduntan also praised Oyefeso’s track record of business growth and his positive business development relationship capacity.
Oyefeso is an experienced banker and chartered accountant with over 25 years of relevant management experience in the banking and financial services industry. He has extensive knowledge in retail, corporate and commercial banking, credit risk management (analysis and management) and financial control.
On accepting the appointment, Oyefeso expressed his gratitude to FirstBank’s board and management, adding that he is delighted to join the team and looks forward to working with them to achieve the bank’s strategic goals.
