Mitch Keirsey, member of the Texas Tenor 3 Bottle Band, has passed away.

Mitch Keirsey, member of The Band texas tenor Died April 24, 2023. The Texas Tenors posted the following statement on a social media post announcing the sad news.

We lost someone truly special last night. It’s hard to express in words how sad we are at the loss of our friend and brother, member of the Texas tenor 3 bottle band Mitch Keirsey!

He joined Paradise last night. His smile, infectious laugh and extraordinary talent will be missed and cherished forever. Rest in peace, Mitch.

Who is Mitch Kelsey?

Mickey began performing as a teenager and was in bands throughout high school and college. He later formed his own rock band, performing in bars six nights a week, and occasionally attending concerts.

After moving to Branson, Missouri, he played guitar, keyboards, drums and bass, and sang at several local events. He started his career playing various shows and songs.

Mickey has toured with artists such as Bo Didley, Chubby Checker, Ray Price, and Roy Clark, and served as pianist, guitarist, and music director when Hee Haw first opened its theater in Branson.

He enjoys imparting his knowledge of all aspects of music to his students, ranging in age from 6 to 70, with whom he also teaches privately.

His goal is to be a consummate professional in all of his musical career, as he has played music for a living his whole life.

Mitch performs live at his lovely big cedar cabin (Top of the Rock) outside of Branson, Missouri.

His father was a World War II veteran (US Navy). He is remembered as the kindest, gentlest soul and a terrific musician.

Mitch Keirsey’s Musical Journey:

He toured the United States and Europe as lead singer and guitarist for Bill Haley’s Original Comets.He has his own recording studio, where he has produced several albums, including those for Merrill Osmond in the UK and Warner Curb Records

Mitch has been endorsed by Michael Kelly and Fender Instruments. According to his academic history, he majored in music at Missouri State University and studied jazz with Stan Kenton, Pat Metheny, Jack DeJonette and Dave Holland.

An ASCAP composer with songs for Warner Bros. and other publishers, Mickey spends a lot of time in Nashville writing songs.

He has appeared on such shows as The Grand Old Opry, 60 Minutes, Good Morning America, Regis and Kathy Lee, Jerry Lewis’ Labor Day TV Show, PBS TV, and RFD TV.

He also toured with the America’s Got Talent winner Texas Tenors. For seven years, Mitch taught guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, directing, and vocals at the Academy of Rock in Springfield, Missouri.

musician Mitch Kelsey Was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. He underwent surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, and was in long-term hospice care. Unfortunately, he lost his battle with cancer on April 24, 2023.

Mickey’s daughter Kayla confirmed his death on social media, saying he passed away peacefully at around 8.30pm last night. His family will arrange a funeral in the near future.
