Nigerian Singer, Tems Wins Big With Future, Drake » NGNews247

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, made a splash at the 23rd annual BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

After losing two of its three nominations, Tems won “Best Collaboration” for his contribution to Future’s “Wait For U,” which also features Canadian rapper Drake.

“Wait For U” won “Best Melody Rap Performance” at the 2023 Grammys, recalls Ngnews247.

The BET is the song’s second major award for its debut at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart last year.

Earlier, at the 2023 BET Awards, Tems lost the “Best Female R&B/Pop Vocal Performance” category to SZA and the “Audience Choice” award to Beyoncé.

Likewise, Burna boy lost “Best R&B/Pop Artist” to Chris Brown and Usher, and “Best Video Director” to Teyana Taylor.

However, the “African Giants” singer won the “Best International Artist” award for a record fourth time.

Beyoncé and SZA are tied for the most awards at this year’s BET Awards (three each).
