Onyema Evelyn, a Nigerian woman, stormed her bank to complain that it had deducted funds from her account without authorization.
She revealed that within three weeks, N1.2 million was debited from her account, but her bank offered no resolution.
In a video shared by Tunde Ednut, the woman can be seen lashing out at bankers who told her the matter would be investigated.
Visibly angry and heartbroken, Evelyn asked officials to stop telling her story and to trace the money.
The money was deducted in separate transactions of 500k and 750k, she said. According to her, when it first happened, she reported it to the police and even went to court, but it kept repeating itself.
A female banker saw someone filming the incident and had to force Peron to turn off the camera.
Disappointed by the attitude of the banks, Ednut wrote: “How can you have a bank account and have money in circulation?
You go and complain and they tell you “we’re going to look into this”, investigate what? First of all, it was not my fault that the money disappeared from my account. I leave the money in your safekeeping. Who does this? You can’t explain to me how the money is going out of my bank account, can you?
For foreign countries, they will refund you the money first and then investigate. Nigeria may never get to the root of the problem…”
