Veteran Nollywood actress Sidikat Odunkanwi, better known by her stage name Iyabo Oko, has reportedly died.
The actress died on Wednesday night, her daughter Bis Aisha announced on Facebook today.
“May your soul rest in peace, Mom,” she wrote.
Actress Fluke Dalamora-Sarakho also confirmed her death.
Daramola-Salako wrote on her Instagram page: “In the end we lost her… Iyabo Oko, we tried our best but God knows best “
The 61-year-old actress battled ill health before her death, which led to her long-term withdrawal from film.
She was born on 15 November 1960 in the Sulfur Local Government Area, Osun State.
Sidi Kat’s stage names include “Iyabo Oko”, “Apoti Aje” and “Sisi Mama”.
Last year, one of her daughters, Olamide, revealed that her mother was diagnosed with an ischemic stroke about five years ago, but her health concerns were kept from the public.
Yoruba Nollywood stars include Foluke Daramola, Iyabo Ojo, Bolaji Amusan, Mercy Aigbe and Biodun Okeowo, and others have provided financial assistance in the past.
