Oyo State Waste Consultant, Mottainai Recycling Ltd. has revealed that it is adopting an improved technology-based waste management system to enhance the safety and liveability of the state.
Ms. Uloma Airhienbuwa, Chief Strategy Officer of Mottainai Recycling Ltd. recently revealed at a forum in Ibadan to commemorate this year’s Earth Day that new technology has been deployed to address challenges in the waste collection system in Oyo state.
Ms Uloma Airhienbuwa said the new approach was to find quick solutions to environmental problems.
With the new technology, which allows the company to track the movement of its licensed franchisee trucks, the state will achieve a clean, green and sustainable environment, in line with the vision of the government led by Governor Seyi Makinde, she said.
While calling for a change in attitude to check environmental degradation incidents, Ms Airhienbuwa also thanked the Oyo state government for its continued support in creating enabling infrastructure to ensure an effective waste management system.
While she draws the state’s residents to the imminent threat posed by environmental waste, Uloma Airhienbuwa is optimistic that the technology deployed in the waste management system will address the challenges posed by unhealthy waste disposal.
Ms. Uloma Airhienbuwa further spoke, encouraging residents of the state to take charge of their environment by avoiding harmful environmental practices.
