In honor of Pride Month, we take a closer look at dancehall culture, the LGBT movement that was born in New York Harlem in the ’20s and took nightclubs by storm in the 1970s. In Paris, one of today’s “fashionable” capitals of the world, the ballroom scene boasts some thirty dance troupes, known as “dance companies”. Who are these dancers? Where did they learn the dance steps? FRANCE 24’s Ethan Hajji went to meet some fashionistas in Paris.
