Maropene Ramokgopa is a South African politician and National Coordinator of the African National Congress of Women (ANCWL). She serves as special adviser on international relations to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. Maropene is also a member of the ANC Women’s League.

Ramokgopa was born in Limpopo Province in 1979 or 1980. A former student activist, she was appointed executive mayor of a Northern Cape municipality in 2006; she was just 26 at the time. She was elected to the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress (ANC) Women’s League (ANCWL) in 2008 and, under ANCWL President Angie Motshekga, held management positions in the league and convened the Young Women’s Department.
