Military officers reportedly killed three people believed to be political rioters in the Gboko local government area of Benue state.
According to an eyewitness named Moses Agure-Dam, the incident occurred when suspects stormed polling stations 026 and 004 in Gboko South during the ongoing election process with the aim of stealing ballot boxes and the Bimodal voter authentication system (BVAS).
“Thugs invaded the polling station and disrupted the election. There were three of them, one robbed the BVAS and the other the ballot box, but none succeeded. They were all shot dead immediately by soldiers in the area,” the witness said.
