Members of the Sussexes’ security team, who witnessed the ordeal, told CNN that the situation was unprecedented.

“I’ve never witnessed or experienced anything like this,” he admitted, emphasizing the chaotic nature of events. He further emphasized that the public’s safety has been threatened on multiple occasions, showing that the consequences could be dire.

Acknowledging the challenges law enforcement faces, the NYPD issued a statement addressing the incident.

They attribute the difficulties encountered during transport to the presence of numerous photographers whose actions complicated the situation.

However, police clarified that despite the commotion, there were no reports of collisions, citations, injuries or arrests.

Contrary to initial claims, police sources told ABC News that the encounter between Harry, Meghan and the photographer lasted no more than 20 minutes.

They reasoned that any extension of the event’s duration was due to precautions taken by the couple’s security team to keep them safe and out of the way of paparazzi.

Additionally, police sources say the number of photographers pursuing the royal duo is not as many as initially reported.
