WATCH: Prosecutors release video of fatal Banko Brown shooting at Walgreens
District Attorney Brooke Jenkins released video footage of the shooting of Banko Brown on Monday and reiterated her decision not to charge the security guard who killed the man at a Walgreens in downtown San Francisco last month.
The district attorney’s office released four videos related to the April 27 incident, including footage from a security camera that captured the fatal encounter at the pharmacy.
The video appears to show Brown, 24, walking towards the store’s exit with a bag in his hand when he is confronted by security guard Michael Earl-Wayne Anthony, 33. Anthony interrupted Brown at the door, and a violent confrontation ensued.
Anthony began beating Brown and wrestling him, headlocking him. The pair broke free on the ground, and Brown picked up the bag, then left the store and turned to face security.
Anthony claimed Brown spat at him and threatened to stab him. The video shows the security guard opening fire and Brown falling to the ground.
