King Charles became monarch of the United Kingdom and 14 other territories following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September. He vowed to uphold the law and the Church of England at his ceremonies, was anointed with the holy oil of Christ and received gifts from his crown jewels. The coronation of the Archbishop of Canterbury will follow.
Queen Camilla
Charles’ second wife, Camilla, will be crowned Queen with a small coronation during the ceremony.
Prince William
Prince William, Prince Charles’ eldest son and heir to the throne, will star in the coronation ceremony as he kneels before King Charles and pledges allegiance to the “King of life and limb”.

William’s eldest son George, nine, second in line to the throne, is one of the king’s four pages of honor. He plans to ride in a carriage through Westminster Abbey with his brothers Charlotte and Louis as part of a grand procession back to Buckingham Palace.

Prince Harry did not play an official role at the ceremony and will not take part in the parade, while his wife Meghan Markle remains in the US with their two children.
