News from the priest. Mullan’s death was described as “heartbreaking” by Feis registrar Ursula Clifford.
“My own mother, Sibeal Sharkey, was like a second mother to him. I was heartbroken. He had a great passion for dance in feis and has stuck with it and organized other projects.”

Fr Kevin, Derry Feis’ former institutional secretary and chairman until his death, made a regular Easter visit to Feis just a few weeks ago.
As the newly ordained vicar of St Patrick’s Church in Pennyburn, he was called to take the place of the late priest. Willie McGaughey, which marked the beginning of his relationship with Feis. His experience attending FEIS as an Irish dancer made him a qualified candidate for the position of FEIS secretary.

November 2020, Fr. Drumquin Parish Vicar Kevin Mullan has announced his retirement. Highly recognized and respected for his cross-community and universal work, he generously provided care and assistance to the individuals who were victims of the 1998 Market Street bombing.
Father Moulin said in the diocesan newsletter that his choice was a “sad choice”, but he thanked the locals for the “hospitality of heart” they had shown him during his years of residence.
He said,
“It was a sad decision and there was a tear or two,”
“Working with you is such an easygoing experience, stepping up when help is needed or forming various groups to keep the parish running smoothly.”
